Weight loss could be the number one issue in the health and wellness industry. With the large percentage of overweight and obese individuals around the globe, it is not difficult to believe that weight loss is amoungst the top 10 search queries on search engine sites.

To fight obesity, most people often embark on an intense diet and workout plan that promotes losing weight fast. However, instead of losing extra pounds, some people may experience the opposite.  They could gain weight due to the muscles that they have developed, or because they are exercising more they are consuming more calories than they should.  If you’re not into building muscles or doing extreme exercise regimes, the best way to lose weight is to follow an effective weight loss progam.

What If I Just Really Like Food?

Self-discipline is the key to losing weight whilst on a diet plan. But if you really love to eat, you might want to consider alternative foods that can satisfy your hunger even with small amount of servings. Soymilk and tofu are good alternatives that can make your tummy feel full for longer.  Try to think of better and healthier food substitutes to a food that you crave and have them pre-prepared and readlily available. That way you will be more likely to reach for the healthier option. 

What Should Be My Workout?

The best workout for anyone who doesn’t want to build bulky muscles is running. It is a great way to get results fast, requiring shorter periods of exercise time. So people with hectic schedules will get results running only 3-4 times a week. 

Changing your body shape to a leaner, sexy you will not happen overnight.  It may even take 6 months to a year before you can see the positive results of your hard-work.  If you persevere and are consistant in your exercise activity you will benefit from the physical change your body will go through as a result of your hard work and self-disipline.

What if your medication is making you gain weight, what would you do? Perhaps you would stop trying or thinking about ever reaching your desired weight. And then you realize that the medication you are taking is for high blood pressure because of the unhealthy diet you have kept for years. And so you now have the dilemma of making a choice of getting healthy or keeping healthy. What would you choose – losing weight or keeping maintenance medication for better health?

You didn’t see it coming? Weight gain is a medication’s side effect that nobody realizes until they have already gained 10 or even 30 pounds. From antihistamines to antidepressants, all forms of medications have the potential to make you feel sluggish or ravenous or maybe even meddle with your weight. So how do you fight back without actually giving up on anything?

Since the day you decided to lose weight, you have kept your promise to follow your diet program and your exercise routine. You have not given in to tasty dishes you used to love because your eyes are on the end goal – ideal weight and a fitter body.
