Are There Benefits of Detoxing For Fast Weight Loss?

Ok, so you want to lose weight?  Although exercise and a healthy diet are the best approaches to take, cleansing your body first by way of a body detoxification could be the best way to start. 

There are many ways to detox your body so before you start a body detox plan, it is important to know your options.  These options include water fasting, juice fasting, the soup cleanse, the use of detox pills and patches, the consumption of all-natural foods, to name a few.

Although these methods are popular as they can help you achieve a quick weight loss,    fasting is not right for everyone and it is advisable to consult with your medical practitioner first, before embarking on any method of weight loss.

When detoxing it is important your body still receives needed nutrients.  For that reason, it is recommended should you choose a juice fast, or water fast you detox for no more than five days or more. 

Your weight loss success on a detox diet will also depend on what your current weight is.  The more you weigh, the easier it will be for you to lose weight.  For example, if you are 20 pounds overweight, you may lose weight on a detox diet.  However, if you are at a healthy weight, you may not lose any weight at all.

Once your detox period is finished you will most likely need to make some life-style changes in your food options or the weight you have just lost can return just as easily.  By making healthy food choices, eliminating foods high in sugar, fats, and calories and combining this with a regular exercise regime, you can maintain a healthy weight for years to come.

So, although you can lose weight on a detox diet, your results may vary and your weight loss may only be temporary.  We suggest you adopt a combination of healthy eating and exercise as a way of life as opposed to a quick fix.
